Individual Approach

Our individual approach ensures that your portfolio at OHV is fully customised. We do not use standard portfolios; instead, your portfolio is adapted to your needs, requirements and expectations.

Application Process

During our initial face-to-face meetings with you, we will determine whether the services provided by OHV Asset Management are a good fit for your background and objectives. After a detailed application process, we then determine your risk profile in conjunction with your relationship manager. We use a total of five risk profiles: ‘Highly Defensive’, ‘Defensive’, ‘Neutral’, ‘Aggressive’ and ‘Highly Aggressive’. While the maximum weighting of investments in equity markets varies for each profile, it can be reduced to 0% for all profiles.

Building Your Portfolio

We set out to create a portfolio for you that falls within the parameters of your risk profile. Investing in bonds is recommended in the primary market, where new bonds are issued every day. Our in-house trading desk subscribes to these new bonds issued on the instruction of your portfolio manager; the benefits of this method is that you receive a return premium and there is no bid-ask spread. This ensures your portfolio is created under the most favourable possible conditions – a trading option usually available only to major institutional investors.

Investments in equity markets are made based on what are referred to as ‘index trackers’. These investments make it possible to diversify your portfolio efficiently and at competitive rates.
