(Junior) Money Market Broker

About the job

As a broker money markets, you are the center of trades that occur in the money market. Your daily business is to close deals for foreign and domestic institutional clients such as banks, national treasuries (e.g. the Dutch State), pension funds, insurers and corporates. An example is the currency deposit market, where currencies such as EUR, USD and GBP flow from one client to another. Another market you deal in is the Foreign Exchange (FX) Swap market. In this market you help your clients to close FX swap deals (where one currency trades for another, e.g. USD for EUR).

If you mastered these markets, you can combine them to discover arbitrage opportunities for your client portfolio. As prices tend to fluctuate all day, you need to act fast to deal at the best price in the market. It is important that you maintain and build excellent relationships with existing clients and develop business with new clients. With your social and outgoing personality, you know how to level with the many clients in your portfolio.

Key accountabilities

Be your client’s number one broker
Act as the middleman/woman in (foreign) currency deposits deals
Deal on FX swap prices you receive from the global money market (clients and brokers)
Maintain an up to date knowledge of the products and markets in which you work
Find arbitrage opportunities for clients
Provide market information on a daily basis to clients
Maintain and develop existing client relationships and actively make contact with new clients
You like to cold call and do acquisition when the market takes a nap
Take your clients out for dinner, drinks and other social events
Attend relevant events
Keep up with (new) market rules and regulations

About you

You are a social, positive and outgoing person and able to level with many different personalities

A bachelor’s degree is required
A proven sales record is a pre
You are fluent in English and preferably Dutch and one other language
